“Out beyond ideas of rightdoing or wrongdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there”

— Rumi —

The word soulward came to me when I became tired and disillusioned with the pressure to always be in a forward trajectory. It’s a reminder that progress towards having the life we want and being who we want to be doesn't always look like moving in a forward or upward direction. Sometimes it looks like the opposite, or being still all together. All of nature follows the rhythms of contraction and expansion, and we are no exception to this. It is a reframing that invites us to radically accept that even the spirals downward, steps backward, and moments of stillness are part of the dance of finding our own natural rhythm. And that staying open to all states of being is an opportunity for waking up to our soul.

In the last few years, my own life has become a human experiment in surrendering to being. This is a space for me to share what I am exploring in hopes that it helps you in your own evolution towards self-actualization. Through writing, photography, philosophy, and other media, I synthesize practices and share stories and insights from my own life related to creativity, consciousness, and personal capacity in an effort to document, integrate, and share my journey soulward.

unbecome

A process of shedding layers taken on based on life experiences and circumstances. A return to who we've always been. The more we let go, the more space is made to be filled with what is aligned with our truth.

remember

The more we sit in silence, the more we can hear our own innate rhythm. We begin to remember what wants to come forth through us. Taking steps towards this truth, even if it means taking steps away from what you already know, is part of remembering yourself.

embody

The final step is bringing forth what wants to come through us into this world. Exploring visions with play. Experimenting with trying something new. Sharing your being is the final step in creating. It is a service and recognition of unity with yourself and others.

"Maybe the journey isn't about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so that you can be who you were meant to be in the first place”

— Paulo Coelho —

about me

Hi, I’m Nati — I’m a writer, storyteller, photographer, and teacher of Kundalini yoga, breathwork, and meditation.

Previously, I was a premed career changer student juggling part-time research, and volunteering as a palliative care doula. Before that, I was a program manager at an environmental non-profit working on Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities' rights, ecotourism, and visual storytelling. I also cycled over 4,000 miles across the United States to raise awareness for affordable housing.

I’ve taken a few twists and turns in my life, but the underlying thread that connects my decisions has always been the same: to feel fulfilled, of service, and alive.

Learning how to overcome fear, create to share, and document my life online is my greatest ongoing challenge yet.

the intention

To create a space where peace, creativity, and authenticity can come alive through stillness, curiosity, and experimentation. Where physical reality and dreams have no separation. A place for visions to land.

this space

Soulward is a living archive and container for my own spiritual and creative alignment. I share it with the hope that it equips and inspires you to embrace the life you desire to create for yourself too.
